Tami Hafzalla
Tami’s retreat teaching style – Vinyasa, Hatha flow, Restorative & Yin
Born in Cairo, Egypt and raised between Eastern and Western cultures, Tami’s work is rooted in a lifelong devotion to healing, self-inquiry, and embodied spiritual practice. Raised in a traditional Coptic Orthodox family, her early immersion in contemplative practice laid the foundation for a path that would later expand through extensive study of Yoga, Ayurveda, Eastern psychology, and somatic healing traditions around the world. Her approach is deeply integrative, weaving together mind, body, heart, and consciousness in ways that invite students into greater presence, connection, and inner awareness.
For over two decades, Tami has guided others through transformative practices that support healing, self-discovery, and awakening. Her journey has included immersive study and training throughout India, Thailand, Australia, the Middle East, and Europe, including extensive yoga teacher trainings, ashram intensives, and apprenticeships. Alongside her background in psychology and counseling, these experiences shaped a teaching style that is compassionate, grounded, intuitive, and deeply attuned to the wisdom of the body and the present moment.
Based in Seattle, Tami is a yoga teacher, Hakomi therapist, certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Licensed Massage Therapist and co-founder/ co-director of Synergy Yoga’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Her work integrates Yoga, Ayurveda, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to create spaces where students can soften, reconnect, and remember their inherent radiance. Whether through movement, meditation, inquiry, or restorative practices, her intention is to support others in returning to themselves with greater clarity, compassion, and grace. Above all, her deepest devotion is her path of motherhood.
Tami has taught for YOAS since 2005, and her very first retreat was held in Egypt – a profoundly meaningful experience that allowed her to share her life’s path in the land of her birth.
